What Healthcare facilities are available in the UK?
If you are a full-time student,
you will not have to pay NHS (National Health Service) medical charges.
This means that consultations with a doctor and hospital treatment will not
cost you anything. However, if your doctor issues you with a prescription
for an item of medicine, you will have to pay a small charge to the
dispensing chemist.
Most British universities have health centres staffed by qualified nurses
who offer confidential services dealing with all aspects of healthcare.
They refer students to doctors and dentists whenever necessary.
Are there any Language issues?
Although English is the widely
spoken language, it is not uncommon to find people speaking other languages
(especially in and around London). The fact that almost everyone speaks
English actually proves advantageous as it helps to provide people
opportunity to develop their English language skills very rapidly.
Can I study part-time in the UK?
Part-time courses are only open
to European Union (EU) students. Non-EU students can obtain visas only for
full-time study.
Can I work in the UK during my
studies?
Students are allowed to work
part-time up to 20 hours a week during term and full-time during vacations
(which total approximately 14 weeks in a year). Hourly earnings are usually
in the range of £4 - 7.
Can I work full-time in the UK
after finishing my studies?
Under the International Graduates
Scheme, applicants who successfully complete either a recognized UK degree,
Master's degree, PhD or postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma in
any subject on or after 1 May 2007 will be eligible to apply for leave
under the International Graduates Scheme.
Students may also see if they can apply for a Highly Skilled Migrant

What are the costs of Studying in
the UK?

What is the living cost in the UK?
The cost of living can greatly
vary depending where you live. In general costs in and around London are
greater than the North. In general living costs can vary from £4,500 -
£9,000 per year.
When should I apply for a degree
program?
Most universities in the UK do
not have a formal date for close of applications, however students are
advised to apply as early as possible, especially if they need to arrange
any sort of financial assistance. Also it provides more time to organize
travel arrangements, accommodation etc. You can find best information on
closing dates by contacting one of our offices.
Is it easy to open a student bank
account?
It may take almost a couple of
weeks for you to open up your bank account. We offer our students get
through this process quickly. Basically to open up the bank account you
will need your passport, a letter from your institute and a confirmation of
address (Tenancy agreement etc)
Is there need to register with
the Police?
If you are coming from outside
the European Union and your country is not member of Common Wealth, then
you may have to register with the police. If there is one of the sentences
printed in your passport then you must register with police within seven
days of arrival to the UK.

“Register with the Police within seven days”.

Is there need to obtain a TV License?
Yes, You need to obtain a TV license if you wish to purchase and use a
television. There is a variety of ways on obtaining a TV License. We
provide our students with the full list of options for that.
Do I have to pay any Council Tax?
All Full time students are
exempted from the Council Tax. You can get the letter for Council Tax
Exemption from your institute.
Do I need Visa to come to the UK
as Student?
All students coming from outside
the European Union (EU) must obtain student Visa before
entering the UK. Once you are in the UK and if your course gets extended,
you can consult your university and can apply to extend your Visa without
leaving the UK.
What about shopping in the UK?
UK is a very multicultural place
and you can easily find places to buy almost anything you need. Again there
is a big variety in terms of price and quality.
We provide our students with a special list on shopping places. This list
gives details on how to save money whilst you are new in the UK as new
comers usually spend a lot of money in the first few months whilst they are
not aware of the bargains.
We also offer list of Halal food shops etc.
What about traveling in the UK?
UK has a wide variety of
transport system including Busses, Trains, Trams, Taxis, Ferries and
airplanes. The public transport system is safe, clean, efficient and
comparatively cheap. Students can usually get a further discount on
traveling.
We offer our students a special list of ways on how to further save money
on using these facilities. So again our students can expect to save money
on traveling from the very beginning.
